Preparing to travel can cause some anxiety and stress. So we’ve prepared a few tips to make it easier and less stressful.
Confirm with your travel agent or Australian embassy if a visa is required to enter the country you are travelling to well ahead of your departure date.
Ensure your passport is valid, in some countries you are required to have at least six months left on your expiry date.
Ask your local general practitioner if you require any vaccinations for your destination.
If you are afraid of flying, we recommend you discuss this with your general practitioner.
Arrive early at the airport.
Take a light weight carry-on bag that contains essential items such as your medication, passport, vaccination booklet, travel documents, money and any personal toiletries to fresh up (remembering if travelling internationally, fluids cannot be over 100mls).
Have you checked your health lately?
It’s also important before leaving for a holiday to check out your health with your doctor. This is a time where you should be discussing your destination, any vaccinations required, ensure you have the necessary prescribed medication, obtain a summary of your health history and discuss the types of activities you are planning to get up to on your holiday. It is also a good idea to ask your doctor about things you should pack in a medical kit to take with you.
