A customer was travelling interstate when their vehicle broke down, so they called their Roadside Assistance provider appointed by the manufacturer of their vehicle, Mondial Assistance for help.
Our Roadside Customer Service Assistant, Angela Hale, arranged for the vehicle to be towed to the nearest dealership for repairs. As the customer needed to return home as soon as possible, Angela also organised a rental vehicle, which was included in their roadside entitlements.
Once the vehicle had been repaired and was ready for collection, Angela called the customer to discuss options for transporting the vehicle back home. Unfortunately, Angela was experiencing difficulty locating a tow truck provider, who was able to transport the vehicle to the customer’s home state. All providers were heavily booked, and there was likely to be a two week delay.
Understandably, the customer did not want to wait that long for his vehicle, and with the rental vehicle limit due to expire, Stacy Tearle, our Roadside Assistance Logistics Officer, discussed other alternatives with the customer.
Due to the delay in available tow truck providers Stacy went above the call of duty and arranged for the customer to fly interstate to collect his vehicle and drive it home. The customer was extremely pleased with this option, as there was no delay, and he didn’t have to pay for additional car hire.
The customer saved around $600.
As well as a long wait for his car to be returned, the customer saved approximately $600 in towing and car hire expenses, thanks to Mondial Assistance.
