These days, a flat tyre is usually no big deal, even if you’re miles from nowhere – until you discover that you don’t have the right tools to change it. Here’s how we helped one customer who found himself in this very situation. 

A customer was travelling through south-east Queensland late one afternoon, when he got a flat tyre. So he called Mondial Assistance, his Roadside Assistance provider for help.

Customer Service Assistant, Nathanael Glianos, who answered the call, soon realised the complex nature of the situation. The customer could have changed the tyre himself, except that his vehicle was not equipped with the locknut tool required to remove the flat tyre.

To make matters worse, he was 350 kilometres from the closest manufacturer dealer and over 100 kilometres from the nearest town. And because the customer was staying close-by, he didn’t want his vehicle towed.

After working through the evening, Nathanael and Account Manager, Chris Torrisi, and Team Leader Adam Soloman, liaised with the dealerships and finally found a workable solution.

First thing the next morning, Logistics Officer, Stacy Tearle, arranged a courier to pick up the necessary tool from the nearest dealership and deliver it to a Provider in the closest town. The Provider then took the locknut tool to the customer and changed the tyre.

The customer was extremely grateful for our assistance - especially when we arranged for the dealership to provide the customer with a new locknut tool free of charge, as it should have been supplied with the vehicle when it was purchased.
